Food Program

The food program at Feed the Heart Inc for low-income and homeless individuals on Oahu is unique in how it will tackle the hunger crisis on Oahu. Feed the Heart Inc's food program will be distributed through a mobile food distribution program. The State of Hawaii Coordinated Public Transit article for 2011 reported that transportation was a significant hurdle for low-income and homeless individuals to reach services. At Feed the Heart Inc we believe that everyone deserves a place at the table. By providing a mobile food delivery program at Feed the Heart Inc our goal is to ensure that we are entering the communities and reaching those most at-risk and bringing the resources and services to individuals. In this way, we believe that Feed the Heart Inc will be able to reach and feed more low-income and homeless individuals on Oahu.

A report from Feeding America found that 159,040 individuals are struggling with hunger in Hawaii. That's 1 in 9 people. 1 in 5 children in Hawaii are faced with hunger.

Our estimates for meal sponsorship are not researched at this time, they are an estimate to help individuals understand how far their monetary donations may go to help Feed the Heart Inc's mission in the community. Mahalo, for all of your work to make our island community and our world a better place.
